Art as Engagement: Interview with Ann Marie Amick

I have lots of opinons about living creatively, but I’ve always wanted this blog to be about more than me and my way of looking at things. This week, I’m excited to announce my first interview for this blog with Ann Marie Amick.

Ann Marie is a photographer and painter based in NYC. Not only do I love her work, but also adore her as a fabulous fellow book worm. Yet 8 years ago, she was living in South Carolina and didn’t even call herself an artist. We sat down to discuss how she began exploring both mediums, why she moved to NYC, what inspires her, and why she lets people touch her paintings.

Apologies for some of the audio, like all things, this podcast is also a bit of trial and error.

For more of Ann Marie’s work, check out her lovely website.

Do you agree with Ann Marie’s idea of art as engagement? Leave me a comment and let me know!
